Me Geneviève Frigon
Lawyer, Accredited Mediator
Experience
I hold a Bachelor of Laws degree from the University of Montreal and was admitted to the Quebec Bar in 2008.
I began my career practicing in private law firms, focusing on business and commercial law as well as labor law. From 2013 to 2025, I worked at the Association des policières et policiers provinciaux du Québec, where I represented police officers in various areas, including grievance arbitration, disciplinary matters, and occupational health and safety.
Between 2025 and 2026, I completed my training in family mediation and began practicing in this field. In January 2026, I joined the team at CHABOT, Mediator-Attorneys, as an attorney and family, civil, and commercial mediator.
My interest in family mediation has developed gradually, through my experience as a mother and in my professional practice, as I have witnessed the impact of conflict on children. Today, I place the child’s best interests at the center of my approach, while ensuring that each parent is heard and respected.
My work is recognized for my ability to listen and communicate, my interpersonal skills, my candor, and my professionalism. With relevant experience in negotiation, I guide individuals and couples toward reaching lasting agreements, whether in family matters—regardless of their marital status—or in civil and commercial matters.
Following the family mediation process, I can also assist you in preparing a joint application for custody and spousal support for common-law partners or a joint petition for divorce for civilly united or married couples. This continuity between mediation and legal proceedings ensures that your agreements are accurately reflected in clear documents that comply with legal requirements.
